Last night, during the shouting match, Biden said that he does not support the Green New Deal. Biden supports his own plan that his website states that, “Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face.”

When comparing his framework for his plan for climate change to the H. Res. 109, “Recognizing the duty of the Federal Government to create a Green New Deal”, the values and plans laid out are virtually similar. On a side note, the Green New Deal did not pass a vote. There are several parts that were omitted due to their controversial nature. This plan consists of many of the same proposals but with a smaller spending plan.

Biden claimed that his plans for fighting climate change will create millions of jobs and pay for itself. Biden said his plans include weatherizing millions of homes to make them more energy efficient, and that he will create tax incentives to incentivize people winterizing. The cost of tax incentives could be added to the $1.7 trillion federal dollars that this plan recommends over the next ten years.

This plan also includes the use of executive orders with the following language, “On day one, Biden will sign a series of new executive orders with unprecedented reach that go well beyond the Obama-Biden Administration platform and put us on the right track. ” After he dictates this he will then work with legislators to fast-track the States to net-zero emissions by 2050.

This is the emphasis that the debate had on the above plan, for further reading see
